Featured on Wedding Chicks today…Jennifer and Rodel’s travel-themed wedding!  They love to travel and explore new places so they decided to go with a travel theme for their simple, intimate wedding.

Jennifer looked amazing as she wore one of my handmade Liz Birdcage Veils with scattered Swarovski crystals.  She found a beautiful rhinestone comb in my shop that I embellished with freshwater pearls.  Beautiful photography by Nirav Patel!

Featured: Vintage Styled Shoot – Love and Lavender

Featured today on Love and Lavender!  This was such a FUN DIY vintage styled shoot with a great group of wedding professionals on a Sunday afternoon in Half Moon Bay.  Below are the details of the shoot, submitted by Carleigh, photographer extraordinaire from Sweet Poppy Studios:

“Hi there! One lovely day a couple of months ago several of my favorite wedding vendors here in San Francisco and I got together to create this very fun DIY wedding shoot with a dress that I found on Craigslist.  Yes, Craigslist.  It caught my eye and just days prior I had been talking with a few friends about how much we loved mint colored details.  A few emails later we all jumped into action making our vision come together.

About the Vendors:  Kristen Calderaro is fantastic at makeup.  Elisa Bunnell from the W Salon, blew us away with her skills with hair.  Bonnie Harper with One World Designs made a beautiful hair piece and jewelry choices and Laura Sabahi with LS Blooms still has me drooling over the flowers.  Jen’s Cakes was gracious enough to provide a perfect cake with mint accents…it was stunning!  We cannot thank the Half Moon Bay Methodist Church enough for sharing their venue with us for this – http://www.cumc-hmb.org/ and we also must thank Rick Sigman for allowing us the use of his Chevy Truck.  It really was the finishing touch!

About the Details:  We wanted an old fashioned feel to accompany our dress and church, so the favors are jars of jam with material tied over the lid with string. Also, we have a little sticker identifying the flavor.  A very easy and cute way to dress up a jar!  The guest book is a cork pinboard with material covering the cork.  The Guests wrote little notes on the tags and placed them up on the board with a pin.  The garland on the back of the truck was made with old cans, some mint paint, and some twine.  It was such a fun project.  For extra color we added some cloth strips tied to the twine.  It was easy to attached and remove, by tying the edge of the twine to the inside of the truck bumper.  It was so fun to do!”
