SF Dream Wedding Giveaway…Announcing the Winners!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Valued at $100,000.00, this platinum style wedding is being donated to one lucky couple by the bay area’s top wedding vendors, and the winner has been announced.

Currently residing in Virginia, Vanessa Muza Teskey and Michael Hawkins were chosen by the public as America’s Sweethearts, and we are thrilled by this exciting news!  Visit www.sfweddinggiveaway.com to see Vicki Grafton of My Simple Details in Fairfax, VA surprised the couple with the news, and Silk and Silver Productions caught it all on video  as the news was revealed.

Vanessa and Mike met after graduating from the Air Force Academy, and fell in love after Michael’s friends encouraged him to ask her out.  Mike deployed overseas and Vanessa was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. From 11,000 miles apart, their belief in God and the contest gave them hope for a brighter future.  Throughout the course of the contest, Vanessa’s health has been improving.

Now they really have something to look forward to, as the prize they have won includes everything needed for a high-end, luxurious wedding, and all they have to do is show up!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

The Historic Opera House in Los Gatos

The Opera House is one of my favorite venues for a party (had my husband’s birthday party there – sooooo much fun).  It is an historic landmark in downtown Los Gatos, with beautiful rooms reflecting a era of the past, an awesome mahogany bar, a wrap-around balcony for people to view the scene in the ballroom and a spacious bride’s room.  But, I have to say, THE best feature of The Opera House are the Village Caterer’s.  Run by Erik and Tony, the food is absolutely THE best in the area!  For each event, Tony spends time with the bride and groom, discussing all the details from food, decor, vendors…pretty much everything you need to make your event a success.  The Village Caterer’s periodically hosts a tasting event – the rooms are decorated as it would be for your wedding or event, appetizers are prepared and a selection of wine is ready for tasting.  Then…the food…Erik prepares an awesome menu so you can taste a variety of dishes to please any one.

Also at the tastings, a hand-picked selection of vendors display their services and products, giving each attendee an opportunity to talk about their event requirements in an intimate, no pressure environment.  Below are some photos taken at the most recent tasting, January 27, 2010, by photographer Karen Tamaki, www.karentamaki.com.
