Featured on Style Me Pretty – Heather and Seth!

One of my Etsy brides’ wedding was featured today on Style Me Pretty!  What an amazing love story in North Carolina – all beautifully captured by photographer Caroline Ghetes.   See the full gallery and read about Heather and Seth on Caroline’s blog.  Heather is wearing one of my Bridal Flowers that I customized with some netting and feathers – it has a CZ brooch in the center – a perfect accessory with her beautiful wedding gown!  To purchase one of my Bridal Flowers, visit my Etsy shop…enjoy!

That book Heather is writing in is the first journal that Seth bought for her. He had no idea she had been writing in it about them for the past 5 years and gave it to him on the wedding morning for the first time.

Bridal Hair Flowers – Size and Shape Does Matter!

As with all hair accessories, hair flowers need to compliment your look and not overpower it.  This means wearing the right size and shape of flower that works with your hair style and is in proportion to your body size.  A customized fabric flower helps to pull your ‘look’ together from head to toe and adds that extra touch that will look great in your wedding photos.  No matter what time of year, a fabric flower will look good from the beginning of your day and still look fabulous when you leave at the end of your reception.  Browse my Etsy shop for bridal flowers that can be customized to get just the right look for your wedding day.

Some things to consider when choosing a hair flower:

a.  Customized bridal flowers need to be the right size and shape.  A large hair flower could overpower your look – you want people looking at ‘all of you’ and your face, not just at the large flower in your hair.   Its so important to bring your hair accessories, or a few of your favorites, to your hair trial.  Working with your hair stylist, you can be assured the flower size and shape compliments your hair style, especially if you are changing hair styles from ceremony to reception and using the same flower.

b.  Customized flowers reflect your personality – you might wear one flower throughout the day or change your hair style and add a ‘statement flower’ just for your reception.  A flower that is colorful, has more sparkle or has feathers says to your reception guests, “Its time to have fun!”

c.  Embellish the center of your flower with beads, crystals, vintage jewelry, pearls – jewels that compliment your dress and coordinate with your wedding day jewelry.  A colored flower or colored center embellishment can pull in your wedding day theme and add to your look.

Flowchart to Happiness

Just found this from Suzanne Cabrera’s blog, an open [sketch] book –  get with the flow:  it’s just what I needed to give my day a boost and headed in the right direction.  It’s all a state of mind and it starts from within…thanks Suzanne!

Speaking of  ‘starting from within’,  my friend (and amazing event planner) Crystal LeQuang of Amazae Special Events, was invited to see the Dalai Lama yesterday in a small auditorium – what an experience!  His message:  for a peaceful, compassionate future,  it starts from within.
